Android Lollipop Release Date for Nexus 5: All You Need to Know
Google has finally unveiled its much awaited operating system update on Wednesday by the name of Android 5.0 Lollipop along with the new Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus 9 tablet. As speculated, it is one of the most advanced operating system for smartphones put against Apple's iOS 8. Material design increases the overall visual experience and consistency with usage while a better design supports fluid animation provides a more lively and realistic feel.
New navigation systems is probably the most striking feature of Lollipop with transparent status bar, quick settings access, flashlight, screen controls, hot spots and other similar accesses. Lock Screen Display has also been played with. The notifications are richer and allow users to view and respond without unlocking. Overall, the control is much better than the previous Android version. Other than that, battery saver, new messages, device sharing, device setup, language control, kill switch and better security are some of the other reasons why this operating system will prove to be an important milestone in Google's journey. It is advanced, easy to use, visually brilliant, and one of the pioneer systems in terms of user privacy and security.
Although Nexus 6 and 9 will already come loaded with this new operating system, users of different android smartphones want to know about its possible release date on existing device out there. We already know that the SDK for Android 5.0 will be available from today but Google has failed to provide any definitive date for the official rollout. According to Android Authority, all of the Nexus devices will start getting the update by Nov. 3, including the Nexus 5. This means that you can expect it in your device in less than three weeks' time.
Therefore, it is safe to bet that by the end of November all android devices should be ready with the update. Meanwhile, Samsung, Motorola, LG, and HTC developers have said that they are working on customizing this new operating system for their phones and it should not take more than 90 days to roll out updates on every single device compatible with Android 5.0.
