Hannibal Season 3 Reveals and Spoilers: Former Season 2 Villain Mason Verger to Come Back for Season 3 as Major Antagonist
There is some bit of good news for those avid fans of Hannibal and that is that the series is set to start filming sometime in the near future. Apparently this was confirmed by Gillian Anderson who is playing the role of Dr. Bedelia. She and Hannibal are off to Europe next season as he is on the run. They take up residence in a neighborhood using the cover of husband and wife, while he stalks new prey. Gillian did not say too much about what we can expect from the couple and their apparent understanding or mode of operation, hostage or cooperative.
On the other side of the globe Will Graham is taking his job quite seriously and adopts the hunter mode in his investigations. Well it would e unrealistic to expect that Hannibal did not affect him severely considering he almost killed Will at the end. Will is still a killer in many aspects and he came very close to becoming Hannibal's protégé. As such, Will Graham is going to be the hunter in the early part of the season. He will do almost anything and everything to find the killer. In other news, it has been rumored that there is going to be a new villain in the next installment of the series, or rather an old villain returning to play an even bigger role this time round.
Mason Verger, played by Michael Pitt, the sadistic heir to the Verger Meat Packing Dynasty is coming back for the next season, according to TV Line at least. Verger appeared in 3 episodes of season 2. He tried to kill Hannibal but Will saved him, and Hannibal got his revenge. Apparently he survived. The return of Verger is not very surprising as he is given the role of the main antagonist in the Hannibal novel on which much of the third season is based. Season 3 of Hannibal has been slated to premiere on April or May next year on NBC.
