'Batman vs Superman' Lead Actor Ben Affleck Confident with 'Dawn of Justice' - Tipped Release Date Moved For The Second Time To Avoid Blockbuster Competition?
Despite lead actor's buoyancy for the much-awaited superhero film, "Batman vs Superman" release date was once again moved due to a potential tough box office competition, Franchise Herald reported.
"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" release date was moved from May 6, 2016 to March 25, 2016 to avoid a "potential blockbuster competition" against "Captain America 3." "This is also the second time the release of the film has been changed," according to the same report from Franchise Herald.
The much-awaited two-superhero action film based by DC Entertainment was originally slated on July 17 next year before it was moved to an almost 10-month delay launch date.
"Captain America" movie franchise, of DC's rival outfit Marvel Comics, has recently hit record-high ticket sales. Thus, rumors said Warner Bros. and the comic outfit will not gamble to go against the equally anticipated movie.
Meanwhile, Latinos Post reported "Batman vs Superman" 2016's lead actor, Ben Affleck, is confident that the "Dawn of Justice" will not be a failure like his first stint as a superhero.
The Hollywood actor and director has openly voiced out his dismay on the reception and final output of his first comic-based movie, "Daredevil." Affleck, like fans of the caped crusader, criticized the film's sloppy effects and execution.
"Indeed I have regrets about 'Daredevil.' I have regrets about all the movies that I don't think were executed properly... I want to do excellent work and I don't always succeed, but I think you have to start out with that drive," he said in an interview with NPR.
If regret is what he has, for his first superhero film, Affleck now has high hopes for "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice." He said he feels "very confident" about the movie as it is packed with talents from actors up to the staff members working behind the camera.
In a report from IBTimes, "Batman vs Superman" is said to be directed by Zack Synder, who is considered a comic-movie savvy director. Affleck himself guarantees high-quality visual effects from the much-anticipated superhero movie.
Henry Cavill will be acting opposite Affleck as the actor will play Clark Kent. Superheroes like Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and well-known comic mortals, Lois Lane, Martha Kent and Lex Luthor are rumored to be included in "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice."
