The Sims 4: It Follows the Same Life Simulation Gameplay that its Predecessors Have
The Sims 4 has been released by its developers EA Maxis and The Sims Studio back on September 2, 2014 in North America for the Microsoft Windows. However, a Mac release has not been confirmed yet, and a console release is currently not being planned.
It follows the same life simulation gameplay that its predecessors have. The players create their character and their personalities, which could change as the game is played out. The sim’s ‘moodlets’ can change the gameplay, as it could do its tasks while it is angry, happy or excited. Also, it utilizes the build-and-buy system present in other versions of the game. Likewise, it could interact with its neighbors and create its own landscape. The emotions of the sims are more specific in this version, as it affects their social interaction.
Another feature of the game is it could import sims and houses of other people into the game.
The game’s goal is undefined – it is up to the player what to do with its sim. It is also endless, as the player could play it all throughout, and develop the sim whatever way he wants to build the sim. The sim could die naturally or by accident or sickness, but players could rebuild a new character through its offspring or by creating a new sim.With simpler tools and complex simulations, the Sims 4 might be the best version that its developers has released.
Its mimicry of life enables its players to enjoy the game further, as they are able to relate with whatever event is on the game. Realistic events such as death, depression and divorce are part of the game, though these are conveyed playfully to lighten the mood.
The game is rated to be appropriate for players aged 12 and up due to its sexual and violent contents, as well as its ability to ‘enlarge breasts’ and to dress the sim provocatively. Though the game faced a few controversies such as its provocative clothes, the game succeeded in more ways that was expected of it. The game received high marks from critics, proving that the Sims hasn’t lost its touch.
