Beyond her professional life of acting, British actress Emma Thompson gives serious concern to protect the Arctic region from Global warming. The Academy Award winner actress arranged a campaign against global warming and stood at the top of the Smeerenburg glacier carrying a placard mentioned "Tony Abbott climate change is real, I'm standing on it!"
The actress conducted the trip to the Arctic alongside Greenpeace accompanied with her 14- year old daughter Gaia to attract the attention of governmental officials to global warming issue, especially to protect the North Pole. "Most of us want to live cleaner lives, but our governments don't make these things easily available" She wrote on the Greenpeace website. "Bear in mind that politicians often lose sight of issues that aren't in front of them all the time. They can end up ignoring even something like climate change, which is possibly the most pressing challenge of our time." She added.
"Crap" is how Tony Abbott referred to the issuee climate change.
Last month Tony Abbott's ministry has repealed the carbon tax, thus Australia became the first country that eradicates the price on carbon.

"Attend a rally, write to your local leaders, if tens of millions of us just wrote to our leaders demanding action on the Arctic and climate change, well - that could change everything." She wrote on the Website.
The actress already endorsed an online petition "Save the Arctic" which won the wonderful traffic from the millions.
