'Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor': Game Plot, Abilities, Release Date in October 2014
'Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor', is an upcoming action role-playing video game set in The Lord of the Rings universe.
The game will serve as a link between the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit saga, as written by J.R.R . Tolkien.
The plot follows Talion, a ranger of Gondor responsible for guarding the Black Gate of Mordor. Whose family was assassinated by Sauron's enemies, Talion is brought back to life equipped with phantom-like abilities and goes into Mordor to avenge his family's death.
In the game, the player acts as a guardian by the name of Talion. As a steward with phantom capabilities, players have the choice roam around the world and trail side quests.
The game embarks in a mission through-out middle-earth with the use of an innovative system called the Nemesis System, which acts as the game memory. The Nemesis System evokes the players' interactions with various and specific types of characters that they will meet throughout the game. As Talion interacts with them, enemies will also develop. For instance, an Uruk who was thrown into fire by Talion will seek revenge on him for being burned.
Players can personalize and enhance the character in all angles so as to incorporate the element of human touch.
Another option for players is to boost and raise the abilities of Talion into a whole new level. Talion's abilities as a ranger and as wraith have two distinct skill sets.
Ranger abilities. Ranger abilities enable Talion to gain ninja-like traits. An example is the ability to around without being noticed.
Wraith abilities. Wraith abilities, on the other hand, enable Talion to manipulate the enemies. His will can be imposed to them that he can have them obtain information. These abilities can also be used to decrease the enemies' morale or to slay their leaders.
Developed by Monolith Productions and to be released by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the video game is due for release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
The developers also confirmed that the basic control, gameplay, and core mechanics - combat, stealth, ranged and movements, will be similar in past and recent versions of game consoles.
With the release date moved from October 7, 2014, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is set to hit game stores on September 30, 2014, except in Australia, which has remained at October 8, 2014.
