'Chicago Fire' Season 3 Premiere Live Stream: Before Season Two Airs
"Chicago Fire" returned to NBC with its premiere episode for Season 3 entitled "Always" last Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014 at 10 p.m.
In the season two finale, we saw almost all the characters were trapped in a building turned inferno. The season three premiere picked up from this event. As hinted by executive producer Matt Olmstead, not everybody made it out alive from that building. This is the setting of premiere episode where Boden, played by Eamonn Walker, along the rest of Firehouse 51 deal with the outcome of the explosion in last season's finale.
Leslie Shay died as a result of that explosion. Her death was more than felt in the premiere episode with every character trying their best to cope up with this reality. Lt. Severide, played by Taylor Kinney was by far the most affected. This should not come as a surprise given that they were best friends.
It his efforts to deal with this grief, he detached himself from people. Although it may not be outright a depression, as executive producer Matt Olmstead, it was more like keeping away from people to be away from the grief that he was suffering. So he took off and had gone missing. Season 1 saw Matthew Casey, played by Jesse Spencer, went out looking for him. Truly, each person has his own way of dealing with death and loss.
"Catching Fire" season 3, episode two, which will be entitled "Wow Me", will hit televisions on Tuesday, September 30. It was hinted in the synopsis of the episode that Severide will indeed return but "he would be would not be his usual self".
But, for a change, season 2 will not be dwelling much on Shay's death, although it will still be felt in the air. Peter Mills, played by Charlie Barnett, will be learning about his family history. On the other hand, Dawson, will be seen to be very excited to start as a candidate in the Austin Firehouse. It would seem that moving on will be at the core of the coming episodes.
If you have missed the previous episode, it is best to visit the NBC website and watch an online live streaming to get updated before the episode two hits televisions.
