TV Ratings: CBS' The Big Bang Theory and Scorpion, NBC's Blacklist Tops Broadcast Prime Time Slots
Based on the Nielsen TV ratings data for September 22, CBS' The Big Bang Theory dominated the 8 PM time slot with its 18.03 million viewers and 5.4 rating among adults 18-49 for two back-to-back episodes. NBC's The Voice, which airs 8-10 PM, was second with 12.95 million viewers and a 3.9 key demographics rating, followed by the 12.76 million viewers for ABC's Dancing with the Stars, which also airs 8-10 PM, with a 2.2 key demo rating." FOX's Gotham" premiered with 8.21 million viewers and a 3.2 key demo rating. On The CW's two repeats of Whose Line Is It Anyway? averaged 0.72 million viewers and a 0.2 key demo rating.
For the 9 PM slot, CBS remained first overall with 13.83 million viewers for its Scorpion and 3.2 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's The Voice rose to 13.67 million viewers and an hour-winning 4.3 key demo rating. ABC's Dancing with the Stars also rose during the hour and averaged 12.39 million viewers and a 2.2 key demo rating. With its first new episode, FOX's Sleepy Hollow averaged 5.51 million viewers and a 2.0 key demo rating. The CW's America's Next Top Model averaged 0.78 million viewers and a 0.3 key demo rating.
NBC's The Blacklist closed primetime with 12.34 million viewers and a 3.4 rating among adults 18-49 for NBC. CBS' Under the Dome finale followed with 7.53 million viewers and 1.8 key demo rating and, at third, ABC's Forever averaged 8.59 million viewers a 1.7 key demo rating.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 13.15 million viewers and a 7.9 rating/12 share for the Monday prime time slots, followed by NBC, then by ABC and FOX. The CW, with its repeats, was at the tail-end.
