Apple TV and iOS 8: Beats Music Channel now available on Apple TV
Recently, Apple has been pretty active with their new releases. The company has recently launched their new OS update iOS 8 for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus along with the iPad. The upgrade of Apple's TV has also been introduced where Beats Music has been the latest addition. The interface has also been developed with the latest iOS interface. This year Apple got the Beats Music with $3 billion acquisition. So this is the first combination of Beats Music and Apple TV where users can access to Beats Music channel. Good news for the music lovers that they can configure their favorite artists, songs, genres etc. from the channel. The trial version of Beats Music will allow user to use it for 14 days and after that, users will have to pay $10 per month.
The interface of the Apple's TV has similarity of the Apple's newly launched iPhones. The hardware part of the TV is powered by the iDevices. The updated version of the TV software is "Apple TV Software version 7.0". Though the name is different but the version has a big reflection of iOS 8.
The old interface had thicker fonts and the buttons were glassy whereas the new interface flat black and white buttons. Helvetica Neue light has been provided vastly. A lot of iOS 8 features have been added to the TV. It supports family sharing where the family members can share features with their Apple IDs. A new music channel has been added named Beats Music Channel since Apple bought Beats at the beginning of this year. From now AirPlay will work efficiently with iDevices and there would be no need to provide same Wi-Fi network. Apple TV's built in security system is now secure to prevent unknown iPhones from connecting and streaming the Apple TV without proper user concern.
The new iOS 8 is supported only to the third generation Apple TV which were introduced on March 2012. But the second generation TVs will not have the update since hardware specifications don't allow it. The set-top box's updater can be used to update the software.
