According to sources, a new "long-term" villain is going to be introduced this season. There's no news yet, as to who will play the role or when will the new villain going to be introduced, in the series. The cast and crew are rumored to be using a codename for the show's new villain. Nothing is confirmed but this is really exciting. A long-term villain challenges the team and it brings out the best out of each character.
Executive Producer Erica Messer said, "You see that there is a bigger thing going on. It'll be a big case we touch on again midway through the season." She added that the show writers still have not gave that person a nickname yet. "We have our own little shortcut in the [writers'] room, but we haven't landed on anything yet to put out there."
