Shazam the Movie Spoilers, News, Reveals, Release Date and Plot: Cast to Include Peter Segal and Dwayne Johnson
Captain Marvel also known as Shazam is a fictional superhero by Warner Bros. and DC Comics. After having neglected the storyline long enough, Warner Bros. and DC Comics have decided to create the long-overdue Captain Marvel movie. Shazam is expected to be the seventh film in DC Movie Nation, following Green Lantern (2011); Man of Steel (2013); The Bat (2014); Green Lantern: Mixed Emotions (2014); Wonder Woman (2015) and The Last Son of Krypton (2016). The Legend of Shazam is scheduled to premiere worldwide on December 6th, 2016. The movie is highly anticipated not only because of the brilliant work of directing by Peter Segal but also the marvellous casting that saw Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam.
The movie is based on the alter ego of Billy Baston, a boy who, by speaking the magical word "Shazam", can transform himself into a costumed man with the power of six mythological figures (Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, hence the word "Shazam").The superhero was originally created in 1939 by an artist C. C. Beck and writer Bill Parker. It first appeared in the second issue of Whiz Comics in 1940 published by Fawcett Comics and became the most popular superhero of the 1940s based on book sales even outselling superman.
The movie's storyline introduces us to two personalities. An orphan homeless boy called Bill Batson and ancient Egypt's Black Adam. Their paths are set on different destinations of course but unaware fate ties them to the same thing that is the power of the great wizard Shazam. They don't both want it for the same reason. Black Adam wants to selfishly exploit the power for his own gain whereas Captain Marvel on the other hand wants to use it to rid his city of crime. The wizard then gives his power to Billy after an act of compassion by escorting and old man to the temple who actually turned out to be Shazam.
