HTC Desire 820 Revealed: Android Smartphone Built with 84-Bit Processor
HTC unveiled this morning the Desire 820 during the IFA show in Berlin and features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU which is also a 64-bit Android smartphone. It is one of the first Android based phones to ship with 64-bit capable processors.
The phone measures in at 5.5 inches across and has a 720p resolution display. The rear-facing camera is able to shoot 13 megapixels with an f/2.2 lens and a very impressive 8 megapixel front-facing camera. The camera also offers a real-time Live Makeup mode which allows users to adjust and preview the amount of skin softening you want to apply to your selfie. They've also stepped up their game to include an option which allows you to merge your facial features with other people.
Under the hood The Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU which has cores cranked up to 1.5Ghz and 1.0Ghz, which also makes it possible for the phone to run in 64-bit. There's also 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB thanks to the micoSD card slot. On the software side, it comes out of the box with Android 4.4 KitKat, which HTC has reminded that it will later be updated to the Android L to take full advantage of the Snapdragon 615's 64-bit capabilities. All of these are incased in a unibody chassis with HTC's trademark front speakers, and comes with a variety of matte and glossy colors versions.
The HTC Desire 820 will be available worldwide by the end of September.
