1 Girl Nation: Debut Album To Release August 20, Pop-Christian Hybrid

1 Girl Nation is set to release their self-titled debut album on August 20, one of the first albums of its kind to combine pop girl-band music with an overarching Christian message.
The upcoming album, '1 Girl Nation,' which will release through Reunion Records, will feature the group's pre-released hit single, 'While We're Young,' which was released back in June. The new record is an upbeat, danceable collection of ten tracks that are both encouraging and uplifting.
"'While We're Young' sounds so fresh with the perfect summer feel," said Theresa Ross, Music Direcotr at WTRJ, Jacksonville, Florida, according to a Provident Label Group Press Release from June 14. "It reaches out with a strong Biblical message that appeals not only to tweens, but moms and grandmas alike, to live for Jesus."
Songs on the upcoming album were co-written alongside popular Christian musicians such as Jason Ingram, Tony Wood, Kipp Williams and others. In addition, the album also features a guest appearance by the Christian boy band, Royal Tailor, during the song, 'Love Like Crazy.'
The band is comprised of five girls from different places and walks of life who have come together, unified in their love for God and making music. The girls are Carmen, Lauryn, Kayli, Kelsey and Lindsey. All five girls auditioned for the faith-based, female pop group and were distinctly chosen because of their strong, distinctive voices and personalities.
1 Girl Nation aims to encourage young girls and teens to make good decisions and focus on the things that really matter rather than buying into the hype of what society deems to be important. They do this by trying to show young girls that it can be cool to be different, and it can be cool to love Jesus.
1 Girl Nation is part of the Secret Keeper Girl movement, which aims to bring girls closer to their parents in a nurtured and secure relationship. The girls will be joining the Secret Keep Girl, 'Crazy Hair' Tour this fall. The tour will be appearing in 50 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada beginning in August.
