ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has got tremendous success and more than expected, sources. The challenge went viral in July-August has till date succeeded in collecting over $100.9 million in just 1 month in donation.
ALS Association initiated the Ice Bucket Challenge on Social Websites and dared participants to take a video of themselves when pouring iced water on themselves using a bucket. And also dare their friends to do the same.
The rule stated that anyone nominated by the participant must dare to act within 24 hours or donate for the cause. Many celebrities, athletes, politicians participated in the challenge and donated generously for the cause. Many elected to participate in dare as well as donate at the same time.

Over 1.2 million videos have been shared on Facebook and huge number of mentions on Twitter too. Such is the power of social media, that it helped them to collect donations that would have taken them years to do so.

With so much attention, awareness and donations, everyone is curious to know where the money will go? Sources report that some of the money would go to ALS Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. The center is a treatment and research unit that takes care of patients suffering from ALS and motor neuron disease. The center is also involved in conducting clinical trials and drug testing.
Let's contribute today if you have not until now and be a proud participant who is not only interested in donating but also creating awareness among fellow citizens.
