Colton Dixon's "Anchor" Debuts At #1 on Four Charts; Watch His "More of You" Video Here

Season 11 American Idol finalist and Dove Award-winning artist Colton Dixon's second album "Anchor," which was released last week, debuted at #1 on four different charts! Taking the top spot on both the Christian/Gospel Album and Digital charts, the ChristianRock/Alternative Album chart as well as on the Contemporary Christian Album chart,"Anchor" proves to be a crowd puller.
On release day, August 19, "Anchor" quickly climbed the iTunes overall albums chart to No. 4 and remained in the Top 10 throughout street week. The album's first single "More Of You" continues to receive multiple adds every week and is currently No. 3 at Hot AC, as well as Top 20 in both AC Monitored and AC Indicator.
"Anchor" follows on the heels of his highly successful debut album "A Messenger." Released on January 29, 2013 by Sparrow Records,"A Messenger" sold 22,000 copies in its first week of sales. It debuted at #15 on the Billboard Hot 200. It also debuted at #1 on the US Christian Charts and US Gospel Charts. As of May 2013, the album has sold 100,000 copies in the US.
For his sophomore effort, he co-wrote with renowned songwriters and artists such as Trevor McNevan (TFK), Matthew West, TobyMac, Ben Glover, Matt Bronleewe and the album's producers. Anchor was recorded in Nashville's Berry Hill neighborhood, a creative hub dotted with recording studios, and produced by David Garcia (TobyMac, Mandisa, Newsboys) and Red Decibel (Switchfoot, Kelly Clarkson, Jeremy Camp). On it, Dixon explores not just new topics, but new sonic territory as well.
