Jonathan Cyphers Releases New Single “Closer Than A Friend”

Rising indie-folk and Christian artist Jonathan Cyphers has released his highly anticipated new single, "Closer Than A Friend", now available on all streaming platforms. The track continues Cyphers's signature blend of heartfelt lyricism and faith-driven storytelling, offering listeners a message of comfort and spiritual intimacy.
"Closer Than A Friend" follows a series of impactful releases from the Nashville-based singer-songwriter, including Take It All, Like Gravity 2.0, and the acoustic favorite The Silence. Known for weaving themes of hope, vulnerability, and authentic connection into his music, Cyphers once again invites listeners to reflect on the closeness of God's presence, even in life's darkest moments.
Originally from New Hampshire, Jonathan Cyphers has quickly gained recognition for his unique sound that fuses indie-folk, alternative, and pop elements with a strong message of faith. His debut EP, The Comeback Kid (2023), set the tone for his career, addressing themes of loneliness, fear, and restoration. Since then, he has released a string of singles, including collaborations with artists such as Grace Graber and Alex Mabey, steadily building a devoted following.
With "Closer Than A Friend," Cyphers continues to push creative boundaries while staying true to his mission: to bring hope to those who need it most.
"I want my music to remind people they're not alone," says Cyphers. "This song is about the kind of love and presence that's deeper and closer than any human relationship."
"Closer Than A Friend" is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, and all major streaming platforms.
