Graham Kendrick's New Single “Rest For My Soul” is a Prayer for Peace in an Age of Distraction

Renowned worship leader and songwriter Graham Kendrick has released a brand-new single, Rest For My Soul, now available on all major streaming platforms and on GrahamKendrick.co.uk.
This heartfelt and timely song offers a deeply personal reflection on spiritual rest amid today's fast-paced, screen-saturated culture. Kendrick explains, "The line in Rest for My Soul which has attracted most comment so far... is the one about poisoned springs. In our age of digital distraction - amazing for communication yet so often used to manipulate our fears and appetites - it's easy to 'fill our cup' with what ultimately exhausts us."
Inspired by the invitation of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, Rest For My Soul is both a confession and a call to deeper discipleship. "Jesus wasn't offering a quick fix," Kendrick shares. "He was calling people to follow him, to live and become like him. This song is a prayer for habits shaped by Christ - 'O Jesus, above all, be the habit of my soul'."
The song gently encourages listeners to slow down and embrace the "gentle rhythms of grace," with lyrics such as:
"I'm taking time, I'm making room
An altar in my heart, my home...
I'm slowing to your walking pace
The gentle rhythms of your grace."
Accompanying the release are resources to support both personal and corporate worship:
Whether used in a quiet time of devotion or in congregational worship, Rest For My Soul is an invitation to find true peace by building our lives on the steady habits of walking with Jesus.
