Canon 7D Mark II Release Date: Prototype Version of the Canon EOS 7D Mark II Spotted at the World Cup

The release date for the  Canon 7D mark II has not exactly been confirmed though Canonwatch recently reported that the release date will be sometime in September in Cologne. Apparently, there were prototypes of the new Canon DSLR which were spotted at the World Cup which follows in line with most rumors circulating the release of the device.  The Canon 7D has had quite some success especially in sports or action photography especially providing the advantage that it des not have the weight f a normal pro level camera like the 1D series.

Rumors have been going round that the new Canon 7D mark II will be a Canon's APS-C flagship model and is going to feature some 24 megapixels up from the previous 18 megapixels in the previous version. Of course, there will be some improvement as concerns the auto focus performance and focus points. Allegedly, there will be an optical window type kind of viewfinder that is like the 35mm rangefinder or the mirror less cameras.  Apparently, the Canon 7D Mark II is built like the Baby EOS-1D X because it has an integrated grip design. The Canon 7D Mark II will weigh less than a kilogram.

There will be a 3" inch display and weather sealing. Other speculated features include built in Wi-Fi and dual memory card slots.  Supposedly, there would be a faster burst rate of 8 frames per second with enhancements on the video quality and GPS to top it of. If all of this is true about the next model, then it should be a good choice for semi professional and the popular choice especially for those who do not want to drag around that monster that is the 1DX.  It is common for prototypes of the next generation high end cameras to be tested during sports events and as stated before, the Canon was spotted with a photographer featuring a noticeable Canon telephoto lens but covering the rest of the camera body, even when his colleagues were not.
