Olivia Newton-John On Making a Deal with God and Death

Actress and pop music legend Olivia Newton-John passed away yesterday at the age of 73. Newton-John was a four-time Grammy Award winner whose music career included five number one hits and another ten Top Ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100, and two Billboard 200 number one albums, If You Love Me, Let Me Know (1974) and Have You Never Been Mellow (1975).
However, Newton-John has been known for her spirituality. In 2006, Newton-John released Grace and Gratitude, which contains inspirational songs influenced by many faith traditions. When Newton-John appeared on the A Life of Greatness podcast a year ago, she revealed made a deal with God when she was pregnant with daughter Chloe Lattanzi, now 36, back in the eighties.
"I remember when I was pregnant with Chloe, and I was close to losing her," Newton-John recalled. "I went to bed and asked God to save her and if he did, I would say the Lord's Prayer every night for the rest of my life and so I have."
Newton-John also shared her thoughts on death. When the podcast host asked her about her thoughts about death, Newton-John confessed, "I have quite a few times that it was a possibility sooner than I wanted it. We all know we are going to die... I think we spend our lives denying it. It's extremely personal. I find it hard to put into words, I feel we are all part of one thing, I have had experiences with spirits or spirit life and felt the spirit world and have heard things, that I believe there is something that happens."
