Joel Vaughn's "Friend" is a Powerful Reminder That We Are Never Alone

Joel Vaughn drops his brand new song "Friend" (DREAM Records) today. "Friend" was co-written by Benji Cowart (Mandisa, Jeremy Camp, Natalie Grant), Joel Vaughn and Michael Farren (Phillips, Craig & Dean, Selah, Michael W. Smith). This beautiful ballad shines the light on the relationship of Jesus as a friend and a comforter.
Vaughn reveals, "I wanted to share my heart on why I wrote this song. I went through a season of loss and feeling like I was walking that part of my life all alone. I wrote this with my friends as a reminder to myself and all who have faced heartbreak that we're not alone and we have a savior and friend in Jesus.
"This song is a reminder to anyone who feels like they're walking through this life all alone. We have a savior and friend who understands who we are and He is with us through everything. You're not alone and you have a friend in Jesus."
The song's release marks the first track since his smash hit album Louder Than The Lies that featured his hit single "Already Done."
Since his official debut, Bigger Than Me, in 2008, Joel Vaughn has become one of Christian radio's most consistent performers. His hit singles include 2021's "Already Done," which reached #22 on Billboard's AC Indicator chart, #32 on Billboard's AC Monitored Chart, and #29 on Billboard's National Airplay Chart. 2019's "I Look To You," which reached #3 on Billboard's Christian Hot AC Recurrent chart, as well as "I Would Be Lost," "Wide Awake," "As You Are," "Pray It Up" and "More Than Good Enough."
His music has been streamed more than 25 million times and Vaughn has opened shows for The Afters, 7eventh Time Down, Stars Go Dim, Remedy Drive, Dan Bremnes and Brandon Heath, among others. In 2018 Vaughn appeared and performed in the PureFlix feature film, God's Not Dead 3 - A Light In Darkness, one of the most successful Christian film franchises of all time. He currently serves as Worship Leader at Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, where he and his family reside.
