Franklin Graham to Preach an Easter Message in Ukraine

Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and of Samaritan's Purse, will be returning to Ukraine to deliver his Easter message, airing on Fox News Easter Sunday, April 17, at 12 noon ET. Graham had visited the war-torn nation last month to see firsthand the work of his two ministries, the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) and Samaritan's Purse. The BG-RRT has crisis-trained chaplains in Lviv, where Samaritan's Purse medical staff are tending to people in need.
Graham reported, "I'll be going back to Ukraine to preach an Easter message that will air on Fox News Easter Sunday, April 17, at 12 Noon ET. My deepest gratitude to my father Billy Graham's friend, Mr. Rupert Murdoch, who is providing the television air time for this. I hope you'll mark your calendar and plan to watch as we celebrate the reason for our hope-JESUS IS ALIVE! Remember to pray for the people of Ukraine."
The event will include music from an 80-person Ukrainian choir, many of whom have been displaced by the war, BGEA's website says.
Samaritan's Purse is currently operating medical clinics and distributing relief items through 3,000 church partners in Ukraine and Moldova. The charity has made five airlifts, delivering more than 185 tons of supplies since March 4.
"You've got people that are diabetic, you've got people with heart conditions, high blood pressure, all of these kinds of things are just normal everyday problems of life," Graham said. "On top of that, you have a lot of people that have been wounded due to the shelling. And so, you have to throw that into the mix."
Ahead of this Easter message, he's asked for Christians to "pray that God will open hearts to the Gospel and that He will draw many to salvation in Jesus Christ."
