Mac Powell Explains Why the Year "1991" is Particularly Precious to Him

Mac Powell, former frontman of the four-time GRAMMY Award-winning band Third Day, has just dropped his brand new single "1991." The song, written by Mac Powell, Jeff Pardo, and Hank Bentley, is particularly precious to Powell. It was in 1991 where he came to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The lyrics tell his testimony: By April 21st, 1991 I was worn out, tired from all the miles that I had run/Saw an old church and walked right in/Same old truth but it felt new then On April 21st, 1991.
Powell writes, "1991 is a testimony song from me. It was the year I totally surrendered to Jesus! The best decision I ever made. Hope you guys enjoy hearing the song as much as I enjoy singing it! It's a different kinda direction musically for me- but I dig it!"
"1991" is from Powell's solo Christian full-length album, New Creation, which will be released on October 15th on his new label home Capitol Christian Music Group. New Creation is produced by Jonathan Smith, Hank Bentley, Jeff Pardo, Seth Mosely, Colby Wedgeworth, and Ed Cash. The album features song co-writers Ethan Hulse, Jonathan Smith, Jeff Pardo, Brenton Brown, Hank Bentley, Matt Maher, Seth Mosely, Benji Cowart, Casey Beathard, and Tommy Iceland. This fall, fans will be able to catch Powell on tour with his good friend Steven Curtis Chapman followed by the KLOVE Christmas Tour.
