"Ouija" Movie Starring Olivia Cooke and Daren Kagasoff Trailer and Plot Spoilers Released
In recent years, Hollywood has looked to the toy world for movie inspiration. This has brought us films such as "Transformers" and "Battleship," the latter of which was one of the biggest movie flops of 2012. The producers of the horror film "Insidious" teamed up with Hasbro toy producers to come up with "Ouija," a horror film coming to theaters this Halloween.
The supernatural thriller features a group of friends who tamper with a Ouija board in order to contact their dead friend, only to subsequently be faced with the things they fear the most.
The film stars Olivia Cooke ("Bates Motel"), Daren Kagasoff ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager), Bianca A. Santos, Douglas Smith, and Ana Coto.
The director of "Ouija" is Stiles White, who is no stranger to the horror genre. He co-wrote the script for the 2012 horror film "The Possession." He has also been involved with the special effects teams on a diverse range of films from "The Sixth Sense" to "Jurassic Park III." The film has been produced by the same team who brought us films such as "Insidious," "Friday the 13th" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," so those with lingering doubts as to how scary the film will be should doubt no more.
This film is not the first time that the Ouija board has made an appearance in Hollywood. The creepy game made appearances in "The Exorcist" and also in the "Paranormal Activity" saga.
"Ouija" hits theaters on October 24. You can watch the trailer here.
