Jekalyn Carr Inducted into the Women's Songwriter's Hall of Fame

GRAMMY® nominee and GMA Dove Award-winning independent recording artist Jekalyn Carr was inducted into the Women's Songwriter's Hall of Fame on June 25, 2021. The award, which was given at the Museum of the Women in the Arts in Washington, DC., acknowledges the female songwriter who has gone unrewarded by the music industry and will now be applauded as a trailblazer.
"Thank you to founder, Janice McLean Deloatch, for inducting me into The 2021 Women Songwriters Hall Of Fame," Carr responded with gratitude. "From a little girl, I've known that there was a special assignment for my life. Since the age of 15, the songs that God has given me for the world, has not only changed other's lives, but they've changed my life.
I'm so honored to be a voice in the nation that strongly carries the good news of JESUS, through music. I've had special people, my family; who's picked me up, prayed me through, walked me through, encouraged me, protected me, fought for me, nurtured me, and fought WITH me. They are still doing that.
To my Deddy, Allen Carr, thank you! Thank you for believing in me! God not only assigned you as my father, but He assigned you as my destiny partner! TOGETHER, God has blessed us to work these assignments! I appreciate you so much and I'll NEVER stop."
Carr received her first Grammy nomination at 19. She has garnered a #1 Top Gospel Album (The Life Project), achieved #1 Gospel Airplay recognition and #1 Digital Gospel Songs for her song "You're Bigger," two Billboard Award nominations, four Stellar Gospel Music Awards and a GMA Dove Award for Traditional Gospel Album (One Nation Under God).
honoring you, dad!"
