Rita Springer Releases New Single "Landslide" Today

Rita Springer releases her new single "Landslide" today. The song is her second single released this year following on the heels of "Midnight." "Landslide" was by Rita Springer, Hank Bentley and Jessie Early.
Both singles are taken from Springer's forthcoming album which will be released later this year. Springer writes: "I've been writing new songs for a over a year now for a new record we will release this year. I don't do this lightly. In my younger years I felt I had to push something out to meet deadlines and yet even then, I wanted thoughts to be cohesive and well prayed out.
I have never been a leader or writer who wanted to rush the next idea out for the sake of filling up a requirement. I have also challenged myself to be better every year saying what I feel and stretch myself in how to adequately and intentionally describe how I see, hear and feel God. To get that right requires massive conversation with Him and asking a million questions about what he wants to hear. I think we can say great things in songs that matter, but to say what he wants to hear has always meant more. Then there is timing. Yeah... timing. I've been at this a long time. I even ask if my voice is still needed!
Honestly, if God ever says it's time to lay it down and walk dogs for a living, I'm game. I just want obedience to be what he sees more then the need to impress or talk when I need to be silent. Last year he started talking about light. He wanted me to dig deeper into His great love and light. I remember I even sat in pitch dark rooms and started lighting candles just to follow how he was describing what light does.
In the last 12 months he never once mentioned Covid or pandemics. He simply said to get into the light and stay there. For so many the past 6 weeks has been dark. The fear for so many of illness, lost wages, lost business, lost time, has us reeling. I have sat and forced myself to light candles in my head when it gets dark. I can feel his greatness looming and the Bride rising. He hovered over the waters and used his voice to turn the lights on.
I listen to these songs we have chosen and get weepy. The writers that have sat with me to carve and dive for these responses undo me. If I was writing just to press these truths into my guts, so be it. But, I do think many of you will go there with me. Many of you will start striking matches in your own darkness and together..... we will light up the horizon with our faith. Look out...LIGHT is coming!"
