Cody Carnes Releases New Album "Run To The Father"

Today worship leader and songwriter Cody Carnes releases his new studio album, Run To The Father (Capitol Christian Music Group), which features popular worship songs "Nothing Else," "Christ Be Magnified," and the title track "Run To the Father." Click here to listen to the album. Celebrating the release, a live recording of the song, "Let The Light In," is debuting today. The song was filmed during the Worship Together conference in Franklin, TN earlier this year.
Carnes' returns to his worship leading roots on this new project and the songs have already taken hold in the church as "Nothing Else" and "Run to the Father" are both charting on CCLI and MultiTracks.
"'Nothing Else' was the first song I wrote in this season as I began working on a new album," explains Cody Carnes about the songs on the album. "It was the catalyst for the deep encounters I've had with Jesus. The day I wrote this song with my friends Jessie Early & Hank Bentley, I realized that my heart had become so focused on what I was getting, and especially not getting, from God. And I lost sight of my first love - Jesus. I was allowing myself to try and find satisfaction on successes and material things, and I needed to come back to the true source of satisfaction - the love and presence of Jesus. I found deep freedom in repentance that day and I've never been the same. Even after a year and a half of singing it, I still often cry. I feel like it renews my focus to the heart of God each time I sing it - something I'll never get tired of doing."
For the Run to the Father album, Carnes teamed up with a group of powerful songwriters such as Matt Maher, Ran Jackson, Cory Asbury, Ethan Hulse, Steffany Gretzinger, Stefan Cashwell, and Passions' Kristian Stanfill and Brett Younker. He also has continued to lead worship at the largest events around the country including Passion 2020 where he debuted his song "Christ Be Magnified" in front of more than 65,000 students, Worship Together and MOTION conferences.
"I pray these songs draw people into deep encounters with Jesus," Carnes shares about his hopes for the project and songs. "I hope people know God is madly in love with them and wants to be in close intimate relationship with them. I pray it leads the church into new life, fresh fire, deep repentance that produces a church who worships in Spirit and Truth."
This summer fans can catch Carnes on tour along with his wife Kari Jobe on the Hillsong Worship "Awake Tour" 2020. Click here for dates.
