Chris Binion Signs Publishing Agreement with Crossroads
Songwriter Chris Binion has reached a publishing deal with Crossroads Music's publishing arm. Chris is known for writing and co-writing songs that have topped the radio charts like "God Is Faithful" by Karen Peck & New River, "The Answer is Christ" by The Talleys, "King Jesus is Coming" by The Whisnants, and "Long Live the King" by The Old Paths. He has penned more than 30 singles and five #1 songs and won the Southern Gospel News' Songwriter of the Year in 2007.
Chris is no stranger to the Crossroads family. "Back in the mid 90's Chris' music started coming into our office for review," says Greg Bentley, director for Crossroads Publishing. "One of the first songs I remember listening to was 'God Is Faithful' and I knew I wanted to work with Chris for our Asheville Music Publishing catalog. His energy and his attention to making sure the song is at its best is paramount. We had a good run with his songs the first time and look forward to even more success now that he's back with our team."
In the last few years, Chris took a step back from actively pitching songs. "My wife Tracy and I, along with a dream team of friends, launched Encounter Church in Rockwall, Texas in September of 2017. I have just been so preoccupied with this new church launch and being a Lead Pastor for the first time, I didn't have the time I could dedicate to writing music," Chris says. "I was getting ideas and saving them and occasionally I would send one out to a friend and something great would happen. Recently, I really felt like I needed to begin writing again, and it was honestly just like I had never stopped. I attribute that to God of course and all of my writing friends who I am fortunate to spend a few days with each year creating songs. I am blessed to have been given a gift like writing and will continue to hone my skill set until I get a song in 'Heaven's Hymn Book'!"
Chris has started writing consistently again and immediately had four songs recorded by Josh Feemster, from Legacy Five and has other artists ready to record more. Crossroads is excited to have Chris back in their family of writers and is certain you will hear his songs from your favorite artists soon.
