Linkin Park Releases 'One More Light' To Help Those Hurting Emotionally

Linkin Park fans were given some bittersweet news this week, as the remaining band members confirmed that they will reunite for a special tribute concert on Oct. 27 in Los Angeles at The Hollywood Bowl. It'll be the first time that the band will take the stage together since the July 20 suicide of beloved front man, Chester Bennington. The band also released an incredibly touching video for their song "One More Light", the title track from Linkin Park's latest release.
The clip was directed by the band's Joe Hahn along with their longtime videographer Mark Fiore and it serves as a beautiful, if now ironic, tribute to Bennington.
"It has been incredibly emotional to work on this, and especially to watch it. I feel that by doing it, we not only faced some of our biggest fears, but it enabled us to use our talents to bring some light to people who need it. As we move forward to the Hollywood Bowl show and beyond, I think about the people who connect with the band, outside and inside our circle. This video is a gesture of good will to the people who want that connection." explains Hahn.
Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda explained the original intention of the song in a statement saying, . "One More Light was written with the intention of sending love to those who lost someone. We now find ourselves on the receiving end. In memorial events, art, videos, and images, fans all over the world have gravitated towards this song as their declaration of love and support for the band and the memory of our dear friend, Chester. We are so very grateful and can't wait to see you again."
The video for "One More Light" is a beautiful visual tribute to Bennington. While he hid his depression and desperation in his final days his desire to somehow connect with others that were struggling never faded. He needed to throw a lifeline to those in pain even if he ultimately couldn't save himself. Check out the stunning video for yourself below.
