'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Movie Wins Memorial Day Weekend Box Office with $110 Million
The summer is kicking off this Memorial Day Weekend and the X-Men: Days of Future Past movie is looking like king at the box office, bringing in an impressive $110 million gross sales.
The film, featuring a star-studded cast of Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, and more, is poised to bring in $281.1 million globally, making it the best debut of any X-Men movie and the top opening ever for a Fox film, including Avatar!
Coming in at No. 2 was Godzilla, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Olsen, bringing in an additional $31.4 million, Blended came in third, the comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler with a $14.2 million opening. Rounding out the top five were Neighbors, starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Jamie Foxx, which brought in $13.9 million and $7.8 million.
Official Plot: The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future.
X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine), James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier/Professor X), Michael Fassbender and Ian McKellen (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Raven Darkholme/Mystique), Halle Berry (Ororo Munroe/Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Bobby Drake/Iceman), Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy/Beast), Peter Dinklage (Bolivar Trask), Omar Sy (Bishop), Daniel Cudmore (Peter Rasputin/Colossus), Booboo Stewart (James Proudstar/ Warpath), Fan Bingbing (Blink), Adan Canto (Sunspot), Evan Peters (Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver), Josh Helman (William Stryker), Lucas Till (Alex Summers/Havok) and Evan Jonigkeit (Toad). There will also be cameos by Gregg Lowe (Ink) and Kelsey Grammer (Beast). The film is directed by Bryan Singer and executive produced by Lauren Shuler Donner along with Singer.
