Randy Travis' Dad Passes Away

Randy Travis, who has scored a #1 Christian hit with "Three Wooden Crosses" and countless country music hits, has announced that his father has passed away. Harold Traywick, who was 83-years-old, passed away at his home in Marshvile, N.C. on Saturday (Oct. 8).
In his career, Harold ran a meat route, owned Traywick Construction, raised cattle and horses, and also owned a turkey farm. Harold's passion was horses. He spent many years breaking and training them with his sons and grandson.
Harold is survived by his sons Ricky (Teresa Bearden) Traywick of Oakboro, NC, Randy (Mary Davis) Travis of Tioga, TX, Rose Arrowood of Marshville, NC, David (Dawn Sims) Traywick of Marshville, NC, Linda Sue Traywick of Marshville, NC, Dennis (Mary Cordier) Traywick of College Grove, TN; grandchildren Ricky (Leon) Traywick, Jennifer Traywick, April Traywick, Matthew Arrowood, Tiffany Funderburk, Kaitlyn Arrowood, Erika Traywick, Tucker Traywick, Justin Traywick; great grandchildren Gracie Traywick, Madelyn Rose Traywick, Calli Carlton, and Mason Hamer.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife and his granddaughter, Latisha Langston.
No cause of death was listed. Visitation will take place on Tuesday (Oct. 11) at 6PM at Marshville's Morgan & Son Funeral Home, with the funeral coming the following day. On Sunday (Oct. 16) Travis is scheduled to be formally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He was announced as the class of 2016 (along with Charlie Daniels and Fred Foster) in March.
