Loretta Lynn to Undergo Surgery Following Recent Fall

Country music veteran Loretta Lynn was not able to perform during a Labor Day weekend show at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, due to a fall. Futher, the 84 year-old had to postpone three upcoming shows in September. Though, Lynn's injuries were not serious, she does require surgery.
"American country music legend Loretta Lynn is at home recuperating from a recent fall ... Although her injuries are not serious, she will be undergoing minor surgery," a statement reads, "and Loretta's doctors have advised her to stay off the road until she's made a full recovery."
Rare Country reports that, during the event, Lynn's sister, Crystal Gayle, read a note to fans from Lynn that explained "I injured my chest and can't get a deep enough breath to sing, but I'll update you Monday (Sept. 5) after I see the doctor."
According to information posted on Lynn's official website, her appearances in Renfro Valley, Ky., on Sept. 9; in Newell, W.V., on Sept. 10; and in Bristol, Tenn., on Sept. 17 have all been postponed "until further notice;" additionally, Lynn was scheduled to appear at the Grand Ole Opry on Sept. 16, but according to a Facebook post from the Opry, she will no longer be able to perform.
Last year, Gaither music released a Gospel collection for Lynn. Hymns and Gospel favorites captures the honest, colorful strains that have made Loretta Lynn a household name, trendsetter and recording icon. Then, earlier this year, Lynn released her newest album, Full Circle. The project earned Lynn her highest-ever chart debut on the all-genre Billboard 200 following its release on March 4.
