Kelly Clarkson Releasing Children’s Book Starring Daughter River Rose
American Idol winner and veteran pop singer Kelly Clarkson is expanding her reportoire to include not just recording hit songs, but she's releasing her first inspirational children's book. The book will inspire young children to dream big for the things God has called us to. The new children's book is entitled River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, inspired by her daughter River Rose. The book releases on October 4th.
The book chronicles the night before an imaginative little girl's first trip to the zoo. River Rose is so excited to see the animals and ride the carousel that she can't fall asleep-until a magical lullaby from her mom sends her off on an amazing adventure. Soon River Rose is hopscotching with the hippos, slip-sliding with the penguins, and dancing with the big brown bears. It's a rollicking, rhyming tale from America's most beloved performer, recording star Kelly Clarkson. Join along on this bedtime journey, complete with an original lullaby that parents and kids are sure to love.
With adorable illustrations by Laura Hughes, RIVER ROSE AND THE MAGICAL LULLABY is the perfect story for bedtime or reading time.
"When kids read RIVER ROSE AND THE MAGICAL LULLABY my hope is that it inspires their imagination and reminds them that they should always follow their dreams - no matter where they lead," says Kelly Clarkson.
"The first time I heard Kelly talk about this project, I knew it was something special," says David Linker, Executive Editor, HarperCollins Children's Books. "Her passion for the story and musical ear for the rhythm and melody that make for great storytelling was evident from the very first draft. It's been a true labor of love."
Clarkson has released six studio albums (Thankful, Breakaway, My December, All I Ever Wanted, Stronger, Piece by Piece), one greatest hits album, and one holiday album, has sold over twenty-one million albums worldwide, and has had ten singles in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. She is the recipient of three Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music Awards, and one CMA Award. Clarkson's sixth studio album, Piece by Piece, debuted at number one on Billboard's Top 200 chart, marking her third number-one debut on the chart. Piece by Piece garnered two 2016 Grammy nominations (Pop Vocal Album and Pop Solo Performance for her hit single "Heartbeat Song").
Clarkson's 2011 effort, Stronger, was certified platinum, won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album, and produced the smash singles "Mr. Know It All" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)," which mark Kelly's ninth and tenth top ten hits. "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" was number one on Billboard's Hot 100 chart for two consecutive weeks (three weeks total) marking her third number one on the Hot 100 chart. In 2013, she released her very first Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, which debuted at number three and was the biggest holiday album debut for a female artist since 2010 and is certified platinum.
