Eshon Burgundy Gives Details to His Upcoming EP & His New Single "Gunz x Rosez"

Eshon Burgundy drops the lead single from upcoming Passover EP. "Gunz x Roses" features production from Apollo Brown.Burgundy made his debut in the world if hip-hop in 2007. That year he featured on DJ Jazzy Jeff's Return of the Magnificent and Hezekiah's Rawkus Records release; I Predict a Riot. Since then Eshon has released multiple projects, including his most recent, 2015 Billboard charting album The Fear of God(Humble Beast Records). This time Eshon has graced an Apollo Brown production, an original song over 2 years in the making.
Hallels: Thanks so much for doing this interview with us. You have worked on numerous projects before including DJ Jazzy Jeff's Return of the Magnificent and Hezekiah's Rawkus Records release "I Predict a Riot." What was the most enjoyable collaboration you have had worked with? And with who?
Eshon: Thank you for having me, this is a pleasure. Honestly, my most enjoyable collaboration had to be with Dj Jazzy Jeff. Being in his studio was an experience in itself, gold and platinum plaques all around from some of my favorite artists. It was humbling, i actually touched the Sp1200 beat machine that he produced "Summer Time" on. Classic moment for me personally.
Hallels: Speaking of collaborations, what are some of the recent projects you have worked on?
Eshon: Recently, I have collaborated with Humble Beast Records to drop my second studio album "The Fear Of God" last march. One of my favorite tracks from that album is with a gifted vocalist by the name of Liz Vice, it's a song i wrote called "Good grief" and it's one of the more serious tracks on that record.
Hallels: I believe your new EP "Passover" is going to be released soon. What message(s) do you hope to communicate to your fans from this record?
Eshon: The message i'd like for the fans to receive is that He(God) spares us out of His love for us, not because we deserve it, but because of His mercy. And i hope that we would all come to know relief and freedom like a pardoned criminal.
Hallels: Why did you call it "Passover"? And when will it be released?
Eshon: Well for me the Passover that takes place in the book of Exodus describes a few of my own personal experiences in life. Like most of us i've received plenty of the Lord's grace, on this EP I touch on that a little and a few other things, a few other things i'd like to leave to the fans imagination.
Hallels: When you were making "Passover," did you approach it any different compared to your previous records?
Eshon: I'm actually still in production and the only thing i'm doing different this time is taking my time...lol
Hallels: You have a brand new single out "Gunz x Rosez." For our readers who have not heard it yet, what's the song about?
Eshon: The song "Gunz x Rosez" is about looking for acceptance from people, receiving it, then being shot down by those same people when you make a move they don't agree with. Its also a call to prayer for our leaders in the public eye who's motives are at times mis-understood.
Hallels: For our readers who would like to find out more about you or your music, where can they go?
Eshon: Eshonburgundy.com and @eshonburgundy on all social media sites.
