Moriah Peters' Dad Has Cancer and Seeks Our Prayers

Singer and songwriter Moriah Peters celebrated Father's Day this year with a heavy heart this year. On Father's Day, the "You Carry Me" singer discovered that her father has cancer. Her father is the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Anthony Moreno Peters. Writing on social media, Moriah invites fans and friends to pray for her dad:
"Dad was diagnosed with cancer so for #FathersDay, I baked him a sugar free carrot cake & ask you to pray for healing."
Almost known for her faith and her singing chops, Peters auditioned for American Idol, but the judges-Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Avril Lavigne-were harsh to her because of her wholesome image, telling her to experience life ("kiss a boy") before entering the music industry. Peters had a 'no kissing' rule and believed in waiting for marriage to kiss anyone.
Touched by the values she portrayed at the audition, a random stranger introduced Peters to Wendi Foy, who helped her make a three-song demo to market to record labels in Nashville. As a result, Peters joined Reunion Records on August 11, 2011. On April 17, 2012, Peters released the album "I Choose Jesus." This was followed by last year's top 10 Billboard Christian album "Brave," which features the hit single "You Carry Me."
