Ed Sheeran & Sam Smith 'Stay With Me' Performance Live from Manchester, Watch Here (VIDEO)
Ed Sheeran surprised fans at Sam Smith's show at Albert Hall in Manchester, England on Wednesday night (Oct 29). Sheeran joined Smith to sing his popular "Stay with Me" single. You can check out their performance above.
"So amazing to have this KING @teddysphotos on stage with me tonight. Such a wise and true friend to have. Love ya brother x," Sam wrote on Instagram after the concert.
Sam Smith was announced this week as a scheduled performer for the upcoming 2014 American Music Awards along with 5 Seconds of Summer, Mary J. Blige and Lorde. The 2014 AMAs will air on ABC on Sunday evening, November 23rd from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.
The 22-year-old Smith's debut album, In the Lonely Hour, released earlier this Summer on May 26 from Capitol Records.
In December 2013, Smith was nominated for the 2014 BRIT Critics' Choice Award and the BBC's Sound of 2014 poll; both of which he went on to win. He released his debut studio album, In the Lonely Hour, on 26 May 2014 via Capitol Records. The lead single, "Lay Me Down", was released prior to "La La La". The second single, "Money on My Mind", was released on 16 February.
Sheeran new album X topped the U.S. Billboard 200 chart earlier this Summer in July selling 210,000 copies in it's first week, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan.
X is the sound album from the 23-year-old songwriter. The No. 2 album the same week was In the Lonely Hour from fellow British singer-songwriter Sam Smith, sold 67,000 copies. 1993 was the last time two British solo artists were No. 1 and 2 on the U.S. album chart with albums from Eric Clapton and Sting.
