Windows 10 to boost a Mac-style Trackpad Gestures Such as Fast App Switching when Released
Microsoft's Operating Systems Group vice president Joe Belfiore had recently announced the inclusion of a new touchpad gesture that will come to the Windows 10 preview in the next few weeks. This was announced by Belfiore during a TechEd Europre event last Tuesday.
The pinch to zoom and pan and scroll were already offered with the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 and some more gestures for PC users. But soon more gestures such as the fast app switching will be made available for the Windows 10, according to PC world.
Some of the Windows 10 features includes support for multiple desktops, the Start menu (albeit reinvented), and the new task view. Also, the ability to use Mac trackpad gestures in Windows 10 will soon be realized.
The gestures are suggestive of what we can find on the Mac. Users can swipe down with three fingers to reveal the desktop, and reverse that motion to return all your open windows. Once all your open apps are on the desktop, you can also use a three-finger upward gesture to reveal the new task view in Windows 10.
In a statement made by Belfiore, he said that "Microsoft is making the trackpad changes to Windows 10 to create a more unified experience for the next version of Windows. In the past, touchpads on Windows have really been done very differently, because OEMs do them. With Windows 10 we're adding support for power users in a touchpad where multiple finger gestures...can make you really efficient."
In an upcoming addition to the Windows 10 preview, you'll be able to snap to the inside edge using a mouse, trackpad, or keyboard shortcut-your choice.
