The fairy tale "Maleficent" and their biggest animated film of this time "Frozen" have excited the fans a lot.  Disney is now working on a new animated adventure based on a south Pacific legend titled "Moana."

The Disney animated film was just announced last week and it is slated to hit theatres very soon. There is a Disney Official Facebook page which has been created for the new animated movie. The people working on "Moana" are working on the film and have even already accomplished some successes. This is with the success behind "Frozen" film. The adventure will be set in the ancient south Pacific world of Oceania. Moana is a born Navigator who sets sail in order to find a fabled island which could help her people. According to the Disney FaceBook page, she teams up with a legendary demigod by the name Maui. They travel together and open the ocean into an action packed voyage.

According to Latin Post, during the adventure, they encounter gigantic sea creatures, beautiful under-the-sea worlds and ancient folklore. The upcoming animated film was originally set for a 2018 release date but Disney has fast tracked it so that it can be released in 2016. Moana is the 56^th Disney animated movie and it has magic written all over it. According to Ron Clements and John Musker, the film will be directed by the same people who brought us "The Little Mermaid," "The Princess and the Frog," and "Aladdin."

Musker said, "Moana is indomitable, passionate and a dreamer with a unique connection to the ocean itself. She's the kind of a character we all root for, and we can't wait to introduce her to audiences." The screen play for the animated film was written by Taika Waititi. He has a lot of talent as he directed the 2010 film "Boy" which won a Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. "Moana" hopes to be the next "Frozen" for Disney.
