Sinister 6 Release, Rumors and Updates: Sony Debates Spiderman Reboot with Sinister 6 Spinoff or to wait till 2018 for 3rd Installment
It seems that the future of the Spiderman franchise is in trouble according to a series of reports at least. Firstly, there was a deal that was meant to introduce Spiderman to the Marvel Universe which would be a wonder in the comic world and an abomination to some. There is another report claiming there are two possible paths for the hero. Apparently he might be rebooted into the Sinister 6 movie, whereby there will be a new person cast into the role. The other plot is Sony would put Spiderman on the shelf for the next four or five years and see if they would be able to develop any of the side characters into their franchises.
Since the onset of the Sinister 6 movie which comes in preparation for the main Amazing Spiderman 3 movie which will hit the theaters in 2018, it seems that the Venom spin-off is functionally dead. Sinister 6 was set to be written and directed by Drew Goddard while Venom was being overseen by Alex Kurtzman. It seems that the projects were given life and left to battle with the momentum that each could afford and looks like Sinister 6 came out on top.
The Sinister 6 movie should premiere sometime in 2016 and will feature most of the major Spiderman universe villains including Electro, who will by some miracle come back from the dead, the green Goblin of course, Dr. Octopus, Mysterio, Sandman, and Vulture. This will feature the ultimate coming together of the Spiderman universe villains to fight their ultimate enemy. If Sony was considering the future of the Spiderman franchise, it will not be for want or greater financial success. Both of the amazing Spiderman films have managed to bring in 700 million dollars globally. In fact, the reason for a spin-off would probably be to take off the hero element and relieve Spiderman fatigue while setting the market up for the release in 2018 as the movies have 2 year intervals as per now.
