Marvel presents "Ant Man" (2015): More Marvel Movies for the Next 6 Years
Marvel Movies will be releasing their new film based on Marvel Comics' "Ant Man" in 2015. According to a synopsis released by Cinema Blend, "Ant Man" is armed with an astonishing ability to shrink in scale, while also being able to increase physical strength. Con man Scott Lang, played by Paul Rudd, must embrace his inner-hero to help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas, in a mission to protect the secret behind Pym's spectacular Ant Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Aside from Rudd and Douglas, the cast includes Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, John Slattery, Gregg Turkington, and T.I.
The film is written by a team that consists of Adam McKay, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari, whose adaptation is based on the comic series from Marvel that was written by the legendary Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby. Kevin Feige is the motion picture's sole producer and Peyton Reed assumed the role of director. The film's production company was Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios has secured the distribution rights.
"Ant Man" is one of the most awaited films from Marvel and will be released on July 17, 2015 in the United States.
In other film-release news, Screenrant revealed that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment finally released a partial list of Marvel Movies that the public can look forward to over the next six years. Scheduled for an August 2015 release date is the "Fantastic Four," while in 2016, audiences will be able to enjoy "Deadpool" in cinemas. The confirmed film adaptations of "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice", "X-Men: Apocalypse", "Suicide Squad," and "Sinister Six" were also included in the list.
Further afield in 2017, we will be able to eagerly anticipate films like "Venom Carnage," the third instalment of the "Wolverine" franchise, "Wonder Woman," the second instalment of both "Guardian of the Galaxy" and "Fantastic Four," and "Justice League," as well as another unannounced Marvel movie that is slated for release in the last quarter of 2017.
If that isn't enough to generate excitement, then "The Flash" and "Aquaman" are two of the films that have been scheduled for 2018, while "Shazam" and the second instalment of "Justice League" should be out in 2019. And finally, in 2020, fans of "Cyborg" and "Green Lantern" should watch out for the movie versions in cinemas around the world.
Of course, there are more unlisted and unannounced films that are included in the list provided by Screenrant, but let's wait for more announcements and updates from the DC/Marvel camp at the start of 2015. But for now, prepare yourself for a viewing of the teaser trailer for "Ant Man," as you won't need to wait until 2020 for this visual feast:
