Google Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5 Comparison: Which Has Better Upgrades and Smarter Specs
With the release of Google's new Nexus 6, fans are anxious and curious if the new gadget is worth the extra bucks and the upgrade from the Nexus 5.
In terms of the design of both the devices, the two are much contrasted.
The new Nexus 6 comes in with a display screen that spans 5.96 inches, which beats the previous Nexus 5's 4.96 inch of display. Added news in Tech TimesThe Nexus 6 also undeniably looks a lot like Motorola's Moto X, since they were the ones who manufactured the device, while its predecessor was made by LG.
In Phone Arena, Nexus 6 wins with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution with 493 pixels per inch plus AMOLED technology, compared with the Nexus 5 which only has a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel per inch ratio of only 445 which is powered by the IPS LCD technology.
With the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor clocked at an outstanding 2.7 GHZ, the Nexus 6 blows the Nexus 5 out of the water, performance wise. The Nexus 6's processor is also very efficient in using the device's battery, leading to a longer battery life.
Although not bad, the Nexus 5 is equipped with also the Qualcomm Snapdragon series, but with the 800 model clocked at 2.2 GHZ. The device's 2048 MB RAM is also no match for the 3072 MB RAM of the new Nexus 6.
Also noted in Valua Walk site, a minor disadvantage for the Nexus 6 is it does not have expandable storage support. However, the Nexus 6 has two variants: the 64 GB and the 32 GB model.
Even with the device's camera, the Nexus 6 still wins as it is packed with a 13 Megapixel camera for the rear attached to the new dual-LED flash. The Nexus 6 can also capture Ultra High Definition videos in 4K resolution, while the Nexus 5 is equipped with only an 8 Megapixel camera and a single LED flash.
For the battery life, the Nexus 6 is the obvious winner with its 3,220 mAh battery capacity compared to the Nexus 5's 2,300 mAh battery capacity.
However, fans may want to decide carefully as the Nexus 6's price tag starts at $649 while the Nexus 5 is nearly half the price at $349 only.
