Dead Island 2: Despite Similarity, Jack Black is Not in the Zombie Shooter Game

Dead Island 2 release date is sometime in spring 2015 according to game publisher Deep Silver during Sony's E3 news conference back in June. During the conference, a Dead Island 2 trailer was shown to promote the upcoming role-playing, first-person shooter, survival horror video game. Of the Dead Island 2 demo, Deep Silver creative producer Sebastian Reichert said, "We're not dark and depressing. We're not ridiculous and stupid. We're cool and kick-ass." Incidentally, in the teaser footage for Dead Island 2, Jack Black is not the voice actor who may be heard towards the end. Black himself said at a live Reddit AMA forum that "I can definitely guarantee that's a Jack Black impersonator. It sounds like the dude that plays me in the Kung Fu Panda TV show."

The Dead Island 2 gameplay takes place several months after the events on Banoi, with the United States military having placed the state of California under full quarantine. Now a restricted zone, California has become a bloody paradise for those who refuse to leave their homes and an action-packed playground for renegades who seek adventure, glory and a fresh start, according to Deep Silver. "Combining the classic Dead Island elements of immersive close combat, action and role-playing," The upcoming zombie apocalypse-themed video game features crazy, never-before-seen handcrafted weapons and over-the-top Dead Island 2 characters, it adds.

Developed in Unreal Engine 4 by Yager, Dead Island 2 will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox. The Dead Island 2 release date for PC will also be the same as for the game console versions. For PC, the minimum Dead Island 2 system requirements include a Core2Duo 2.66 GHz CPU, an ATI 2600XT 512MB VRAM (GeForce 8600GT) VGA, DirectX 9.0C or later, 1 GB of RAM, 15 GB of available hard drive space, and a Windows XP or newer OS.
