Apple Pay with iPhone 5S on Watch: Will the Combination Work?
Apple Pay with iPhone 5S on Watch: Will the Combination Work?
Apple has finally rolled out the much awaited update to their controversial operating system, iOS 8. It is called iOS 8.1 and provides much relief from common issues like freezing and low battery life. However, there is another reason why the update will prove to be an important day in the history, which is Apple Pay, the payment system that can soon replace wallets and plastic money.
Although the service will not be function for at least a week according to News Australia, it is good to know that developers have worked hard on the operating system and to incorporate payment system within it. Now that most Apple users already know that this payment system will only work with the help of NFC and for now only iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus offer that. So, what actually happens with the previous devices like iPhone 5, 5S, 5C and 4S? Apple experts say that the company has not overlook the number of other people using Apple devices and that it far greater than the ones purchasing iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. That is one of the reasons why Apple is working so aggressively on its watch. This watch will be compatible with previous iPhone models to facilitate payments without having to carry real cash.
Meanwhile, not many people are positive about this new type of transaction system. NY Daily News has reported the hesitation amongst users especially those who are concerned about Apple's ability to protect our identity, information, and other sensitive pieces of data. In fact, even tech junkies aren't sure if Apple can block the hackers completely especially after the recent celebrity incident on iCloud.
On the other hand, experts believe that the hesitation is natural as it would happen with any other technology. Initially people were reluctant in online banking and using credit cards due to similar concerns. However, things soon changed and now they have become an important part of our lives. Apple has worked brilliantly on payment system and over 300 financial institutions have already joined hands with the company along with retailers and other companies across the world.
