Newsboys Return with Album of Hymns "Hallelujah for the Cross"

On the heels of one of the biggest years in their legendary career, Newsboys will be back on November 4, 2014 with a brand new hymns album entitled "Hallelujah for the Cross." The album will include many traditional hymns with new arrangements like: "Jesus Paid It All," "What A Friend We Have In Jesus," "It Is Well," "All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name" and many more. Releasing in late September to radio will be are the lead single "Hallelujah for the Cross." This forthcoming single is sure to follow in the successful foot steps of their current single "We Believe." "We Believe," is currently on its 10th week at #1 at AC radio.
"Growing up in the church, hymns were an essential component of traditional worship. For as long as we can recall, we have loved the very essence of hymns," said singer Michael Tait in an official statement, "The writers of many of these majestic pieces wrote them during very painful, trying times of distress but Redeemed places. To this day, the hymns of old still move us like nothing else, and by having the opportunity to bring focus back to them today in a modern style, we hope that they shall never die."
Comprised of former DC Talk singer Michael Tait, drummer Duncan Phillips, keyboard player Jeff Frankenstein, and guitarist Jody Davis, the group has been around for nearly 30 years in various incarnations and with different members. Newsboys have sold over 7 Million albums, earned five RIAA Certified Gold albums and contributed 27 #1 radio hits including their most recent #1 smash "We Believe". With former dcTalk member Michael Tait on vocals, Newsboys have sold over 800,000 albums and continue their full tour schedule, making a unique connection with each audience.
This year the Newsboys have experienced a resurgence in their music and popularity. Their songs are charting well, and their previous record got a second wind with the movie 'God's Not Dead', as it was the name of their album and hit single as well. They even made an appearance in the film.
