Hillsong Live: 'Glorious Ruins' To Release July 2
Hillsong Live's upcoming album/DVD, 'Glorious Ruins,' is set to be released on July 2.
The new album will be available in both DVD and Deluxe Edition. It features 16 songs including 'God Who Saves,' 'Always Will,' 'You Never Fail,' 'Christ Is Enough,' 'Glorious Ruins,' 'Where The Spirit of the Lord Is,' 'Closer,' 'To Be Like You,' 'Man of Sorrows,' 'We Glorify Your Name,' 'You Crown The Year,' 'Anchor,' and bonus tracks, 'King of Heaven' and 'A Million Suns.' The new album also offers a special message about the idea behind the album itself, by Brian Houston, Senior Pastor of Hillsong Church.
According to the Hillsong Live website, "The Chorus of the title track, Glorious Ruins, was an underlying theme through the life of Hillsong Church in the lead up to the Hillsong Live praise & worship album recording, Glorious Ruins." The lyrics of the chorus read, "Let the ruins come to life in the beauty of Your name, rising up from the ashes, God forever You reign."
The title track and album at large reflect on the idea of God coming to us in our brokenness and creating something wonderful. "Ruins can speak of crushing defeat or perhaps of something abandoned, but the good news today is that the ruins come to life. ...Through Jesus Christ what we look at is ruins that become glorious..," Houston said, according to the Hillsong Live website.
Lately, Hillsong Live has been focusing particularly on their popular track, 'Man of Sorrows.' They have been posting lyrics on their Twitter account and, earlier today, they posted a link to a live video performance of 'Man of Sorrows,' off the new album.
Hillsong Live is a worship group that originated in Hillsong Church, a global church that has its original headquarters in Sydney, Australia. The Hillsong Church also has headquarters in London, Kiev, Cape Town, New York City, Moscow, Stockholm, Paris, Konstanz, Amsterdam, Melbourne and Copenhagen. The Hillsong worship team is comprised of members from all over the world, including Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, Ben Fielding, Dave Ware, Annie Garratt and more.
Hillsong has written and produced some of the most well-known songs in worship music including, 'Shout To The Lord,' 'Inside Out,' 'Hosanna,' 'The Stand,' 'Mighty To Save,' and 'Cornerstone.' They have released a number of live albums and DVDs in the past, the most recent of which was an album entitled 'Cornerstone,' in 2012. Their upcoming album, 'Glorious Ruins,' is currently available for pre-order.
