David Hill, the Former Lead Singer of Gold City, Dies

David Hill, the former lead singer of Gold City, died on Father's Day (Sunday, June 18, 2023) after a lengthy battle against cancer. He passed away surrounded by his loving family members and friends at around 5:42 PM.
The unfortunate news of David Hill's death was announced by his former group, Gold City, in a heartfelt post. "We are saddened to report the passing of one of our own alumni. Former member, lead vocalist David Hill, graduated to Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer."
Danny Riley says, "David was a fine lead singer. Many will remember he was the original voice on Gold City's classic, 'I'm Not Giving Up.' In addition to his singing, he was a great preacher, too. He was truly at home on the stage and was a great friend. He will be missed. Please pray for his family during this time."
Hill was an exceptional singer who played the vocalist for several groups throughout his career. He had a smooth but powerful voice that resonated among audience very well. He was a part of groups such as Anchormen, Singing Americans, the Perrys, the Nelons, Gold City, and Malachi.
Hill is best know for being the lead singer of Gold City between 1994 and 1996. After his stint with the quartet, Hill started attending Sunday morning services on a regular basis at a local church. He later became a pastor at the facility.
David's Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, July 08, 2023, at 11 AM at North Palm Church in North Charleston, South Carolina. More details will be shared later.
The Hill family requests in lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to express love and condolences can donate to Kingdom River International. It's the non-profit ministry started by the late David Hill and his wife Amanda Hill.
