Do You Remember When Steven Curtis Chapman Released "Speechless" 22 Years Ago?

This month Steven Curtis Chapman's ninth studio album Speechless turns 22 years-old! Chapman himself remarks, "Today marks 22 years since the release of my album "Speechless"." Here are 7 things we remember about the album:
1. The album provided more No. 1 chart singles (seven) on Christian contemporary radio than any of Chapman's other albums: "The Change", "Fingerprints of God", "The Invitation", "Great Expectations", "Be Still And Know", "Dive" and the title song "Speechless".
2. Over the years, Chapman has had written his share of love songs for his wife. For this album, "What I Really Want to Say" was dedicated to his wife, Mary Beth.
3. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 27, 2000. This means the album sold more than a million copies in the US alone!
4. Chapman received the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album and Dove Awards for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for this record. Moreover, Chapman also won the Dove Award's Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year (for "Dive")
5. Chapman dedicated the song "Fingerprints of God" to his daughter Emily who, at the time had turned 13.
6. The song "With Hope" was written for a family, the Mullicans (friends of the Chapmans), who lost a child. It was later sung in honor of the victims of the shooting at Heath High School in Paducah, Kentucky, Chapman's alma mater.
