One of Christian music's biggest rock bands, the Newsboys, passed another milestone with their hit single, "God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)" being certified GOLD by the RIAA as it has sold more than 140,000 tracks since January. The single is from their album of the same name and was helped by the success of the popular movie GOD'S NOT DEAD with the Newsboys' performance of the song on the soundtrack.
"God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)" was a No. 1 radio hit on the Billboard AC Monitored chart in 2012 and was the top selling track off of the album. The movie helped the song push past the 500,000 certified sales mark.
This the success of the single, the Newsboys are now included with heralded artists such as Bob Carlisle, Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Skillet, and Switchfoot as Christian artists to reach that mark.
"Inpop Records is so grateful for the spotlight given to our music because of the GOD'S NOT DEAD movie.
